Thankful?

November brings hashtags such #thankful and #blessed. As cliché as that sounds, I really am both thankful and blessed. For you see, these 3 people make me count my lucky stars, each and every day.  They also drive me crazy 😉 but I would not trade this life of mine for anything in the world.

I have so much to be grateful for each and every year. I am constantly reminding myself how blessed my life has been and I never take it for granted. Overall, I had a great childhood. I was exposed to some unforeseen circumstances through my grade school years, mixed with some disturbances and challenges thorough middle school and overwhelmed with teenage hormones through high school. But the past 10 years of my life can be described with one word = thankful.

What makes me so lucky?

Friends. Everyone needs friends. OMG, where would I be if I did not have my friends. I have a small but powerful and eclectic group of friends. They all possess something unique and bring something important to our friendship. I am so thankful for each and every one of them and their love and support. Friendship isn’t always about talking each and every day. It isn’t about buying gifts or hanging out all of the time. It is about having people in your life other than family who you know will be there for you through thick and thin. That is super important to me and I am happy to have them.

Family. Both of our families are scattered all over the world. Fortunately our immediate families live within 50 miles of each other. It is not close but it is also not far. My husband and I strive to do everything ourselves but on occasion we depend heavily on our families. We have a handful of people that are always there for us and we can really count on them. Especially for babysitting 🙂 You can never have enough babysitters. Even with the kids being bigger now, it helps to get away once in a while and having them around, helps!! A LOT! I am thankful for them!

Health. I am extremely thankful for health. None of us appreciate this enough. It is something we all take for granted sometimes. I live each day to the fullest and really take advantage of healthy days. I also do my best to prevent any type of sickness or situation that could potentially cause any of us to be hurt or get sick. No, I do no bubble wrap my kids. Follow my Instagram and you will see. We are out all of the time, we explore new places and visit family and friends frequently. We are exposed to germs and accidents on regular basis. But I also stock up on vitamins, fruits and veggies, essential oils and so forth.

Love. Even though I did not grow up in a household that expressed love regularly, I am thankful for the love that I did have and continue to have in my life. I am specifically thankful for my husband’s love. He is the true definition of someone who loves me more then he loves himself. His love is truly unconditional. He will put me and our kids before anything or anyone – ALWAYS – and I could not love him more for that.

Kids. I have what some might call the perfect combo. A boy and a girl. So true. They balance our house so well. Where she fails, he excels. Where she shines, he needs a nudge. They are a perfect mix of both my husband and I. They complete us! My husband and I will regularly remind each other how we could not see our lives without them in it. How our house would not be the same and our lives would honestly feel empty. Even through the tough times and sleepless nights, we appreciate every moment that we get to spend together. I look forward to making more memories and creating our perfect life. I am so thankful for these crazy kids!

Motherhood. I was lucky enough to have various jobs from high school, through college and after. When my husband and I met we both worked full time. We had our daughter a few years later and I knew I would go back to work to continue to provide the best for our little family. But 2.5 years later I was laid off. While this is not always the best news, we embraced it and expanded our family. We welcomed our little boy a year later. At that time, we made the decision that being a stay at home mom to our kids was the best decision for us. That it was. I am so thankful for these years. I will never get this time again. So to be able to stay at home to love, comfort, laugh, cry, document, learn, and so much more, is priceless. It has not been easy. I have cried, I have kicked, and I have screamed. I have hated myself, I had doubts! I was crazy, I was happy, I was scared, I was all of that. But it is worth it. I am extremely thankful for having this opportunity to be their mom!

My husband. Saving the best for last. I am the luckiest girl in the world. This man right here works his butt off to provide for us. To spoil us. To travel with us. To love us. His world has been turned upside down on many occasions. His life has had its ups and downs. But he is so humble about it all. He accepts what is and makes the best out of every situation. He motivates me to be better. He inspires me to keep going and never give up. He sacrifices so much of his time, his wants and needs, just to make us happy. Even when he is tired and really has no energy, he will somehow find it for us. I appreciate him so much. I try to show him on daily basis that his hard work does not go unnoticed and that we are so thankful to have him! Love you babe and thank you for taking on this journey with me ♥
