5 Step Anti-Aging Skin Care Routine

I am celebrating my 36th birthday next month and although I love my age, it is officially time to amp up my skin care routine.

I collaborated with an award winning skin care line called Saranghae to try their  “revolutionary Korean 5 step anti-aging skin care routine designed to directly address the root causes that lead to unhealthy, damaged and aging skin.” I am super excited.

For most of us moms washing our face can sometimes be considered a miracle. But we really have to take care of our skin. Water is just not enough! Moisturizers are not enough. Our skin is so complex that it often takes multiple products to achieve that healthy, young and beautiful skin. “Saranghae achieves this by addressing 3 distinct phases. Heal, Regenerate and Protect.” They don’t promise an overnight miracle! But they do believe that using the right products with the right yet unique ingredients and as a system, will result in not just younger looking skin, but overall healthier skin. Which is exactly what I need.

Here are the steps and my reviews.

Step 1: Nourishing & Moisturizing Oil + Foam Cleanser with Truffle Extract & Gold

Descriptions: Best cleanser you will ever try! This unique and revolutionary cleansing formula combines the deep pore cleansing power of an oil cleanser with the effective make-up removal of a foam cleanser. It eliminates oil, micro-particles, grime, dirt and toxins while hydrating and nourishing your skin at the same time.
  • I agree that this is a really great cleanser. A favorite for sure! It is easy to use with a light and floral scent. Goes on smoothly and lathers nicely without water. But even more so when water is added. Works very well as make up remover and leaves your skin feeling clean.

Step 2: Deep Radiance Essence + Serum

Description: Dramatically increases cellular nutrient delivery by increasing blood circulation. Neutralizes skin cell waste by-products. Prevents dry and flaky skin by controlling the balance between skin moisture and oil. Balances your skin’s potential hydrogen (pH) level to prevent flair ups, inflammation and break outs. Deeper penetration into the cellular level allows skin cells to receive vital living nutrients.
  • This has a really nice citrus scent which makes it very refreshing. I haven’t noticed any visible changes at this time but I think if used over time, especially in winter, it will be worth it!

Step 3: Firm and Lift Cellular Regeneration Cream

Description: Rich, beautiful and luxurious are just few of the adjectives that come to mind when describing the Saranghae Firm & Life Cellular Regeneration Cream. Made with certified organically grown 15% Phellinus Linteus (Sang Hwang) muchroom and Ginseng, it is formulated and stabilized using our award winning Multiple Crystal Emulsion Technology. Our Saranghae Firm & Lift will decrease the formation of free radicals and reduce damage due to oxidative stress by 220%. Our powerful but natural blend of antioxidants, amino acids and regenerative peptides will deliver astonishingly smooth, supple and quite simply beautiful skin while diminishing age spots, redness and visible signs of aging.
  • This cream is so smooth and thick! You can feel the hydration and tightening. It is also very lightly scented. I believe this is meant for more dry areas like the neck  but I can see how this cream can be a game changer. It does have a light yellowish tint so make sure you wash your hands after using.

Step 4: Focus Renewal Eye Cream

Description: Formulated with Phellinus Linteus (Sang Hwang) Mushroom Extract, adenosine, vitamin B3, elastin and collagen, the Focus Renewal Eye Serum is the single most effective solution to restore vitality, diminish wrinkles, visibly lift and firm and brighten the appearance of dark circles around the eyes.
  • This one is also creamy and you only need a smidge to apply around the eyes. You can feel it working – a slight tingle. Very light and not cakey.

Step 5: Elemental Essence Mask

Description: Saranghae’s Elemental Essence Mask is a unique, lightweight, micro-fiber material with a blend of Asian botanicals that helps calm inflamed skin, enhance the natural contours of the face and maximize brightness. Fortified with Saranghae’s CoQ10 and Hyaluronic Acid, it provides a luxurious look and feel to your skin unlike any other mask you’ve tried before. This unique and intense formula delivers radiant results instantly after use, while reducing existing pigmentation over time for a breathtakingly beautiful finish.
  • This was interesting. Very sticky and slimy as you take it out of the pouch [full of product]. Very easy to apply but you do have to keep it on for 15-20 minutes. Once you take it off, you do not wash it. You rub it into your skin and let the product absorb into your skin. This takes a few minutes because of how much residue there is but it absorbs into the skin quickly.

Final review: Overall I think this 5 step routine is great. The citrus & floral scents make me feel like I am at the spa. It is very easy to use and apply. I do think it is best suited for dry vs oily skin. I have a combination of the two so in the areas where my skin is generally oily, the products make it a bit more moisturized then I would like. I first started using it in the morning but it felt heavy throughout the day. So I switched to using it at night and by the morning it is is all well absorbed.

I love the cleanser and the mask the most. But just like with any other product, if used correctly and consistently for at least 30 days, you will see results. I will update this review in the next 3 weeks to report on visible changes.

One thing I wish they did differently is number the bottles/ boxes. I feel like I have to keep going back to the booklet every time to make sure I was am using them in the right order.

More about SaranghaeA 600 Year Old Story“Love the world, love one another and most of all love yourself” – Lee Myeong JoSaranghae means “I Love You” in Korean.

The roots of Saranghae can be traced to a family heirloom that dates back almost 600 years. Meticulously updated and lovingly maintained for hundreds of years, this heirloom documents the health benefits of herbs and plants, like green tea leaves, that are still found growing at the side of a volcanic mountain in a small town in South Korea. The villagers took note that this uniquely rich volcanic soil produced botanicals that seemed to have incredibly powerful healing properties when applied to skin ailments or brewed in tea form.

Stories of these plants and herbs have been told for generations to families in this village. There is even evidence that the Royal Family of Korea would make trips twice a year to this remote village just to harvest these life-giving plants and use them to treat various ailments.Saranghae is a multi-national company that maintains its boutique philosophy. Their mission is to bring the power and beauty of Asian botanicals to the world. Saranghae’s focus on natural ingredients, highly effective products, and excellence in customer service has helped them become the fastest growing Korean skin care brand in the United States. . To this day, Saranghae is still a family run business. You can also find them at:

  1. Sounds like a great line! I’m really liking Korean skincare products. They feel extra gentle on the skin and they have the formulas down to a science.
