How to Adopt a Productive Morning Routine

For me and many others, mornings are the toughest part of the day.

I am tired and all my body wants to do is lay back down and sleep. As a result, adopting a productive morning routine has been a difficult process.

Regardless of whether I am simply getting ready to workout or prepare for a long day of searching for Nashville houses for sale (don’t ask), getting started off on the right foot in the morning is extremely important.

Thankfully, there are some things that I have been doing and you can too, to make your mornings a little easier and more manageable.

So what should WE do to make OUR mornings a little more effective?

Here’s how to adopt a productive morning routine.

Get a Good Night’s Sleep

The most important thing that I have been focusing on, which helps me start my day off on the right foot, is to get a good night’s sleep the night before.

One of the main reasons why we have such a hard time being productive in the early parts of the morning is simply because we don’t get enough sleep. Many Americans struggle with a lack of sleep. It’s something that can have some detrimental health effects. If we are exhausted from the prior night, then it’s extremely difficult to wake up early and even more difficult to be productive. If I really want to be productive during the first few hours of the day, then I have to focus and ensure that I am well rested and ready to go.

Plan Out Your Day and Set Goals

I’ve learned that to have a successful morning routine, then I have to plan it out. I start by setting my alarm for 5:30 am as well as write out my goals for the next morning. I find that having a checklist of what I would like to get done and goals that I would like to accomplish throughout the morning is the best way to ensure that they actually get done.

These plans and goals provide me with a barometer to measure how successful my morning routine really was. Planning and goal setting is extremely important in many aspects of life, but it is especially key in establishing a productive morning routine.

Start With a Simple Task

Something that many people struggle with in the morning is getting the motivation to get your day started off on the right foot. Many people don’t know where to start when it comes to a productive morning; including myself. Which leads to some major motivation issues. Sometimes all you need is an easy task to get you started, something that can get the ball going and spark some productivity in you for the rest of the morning. A good example of a simple task that I have on my list every morning is – MAKE YOUR BED. Doing a small task makes me feel accomplished, and it provides more motivation and energy to tackle the rest of the morning.

Tailor Your Routine to Yourself

Another thing that we all need to be wary about when planning our morning routine is the fact that not all morning routines work the same for everybody. Everybody has different values and goals that they would like to accomplish in the morning. Different morning routines work for different people. Identify what is important to you and the things that you would like to accomplish in the morning; tailoring your routine to yourself. Once you identify how you’d like to sculpt your morning routine and what you’d like to accomplish with it, having a productive routine becomes so much easier. You still should use the other suggestions on this list, but you should use them to support and jumpstart a routine that is specifically made for you.

At least that is what I have done the past 4 weeks and so far so good. It’s not perfect by any means, but I have definitely accomplished a lot more recently.

Have a wonderful morning friends and don’t forget to follow me on Instagram and you can follow along my productive morning journey. Maybe it will inspire you to do the same.
