Family Day at Great Wolf Lodge - Chicago/ Gurnee, IL

Good morning and welcome back to www.hazeleyesmom.com ๐Ÿ˜

This week we had an amazing opportunity to visit Great Wolf Lodge in Gurnee, Illinois and I could not wait to share our experience with all of you. Not only is this an indoor water park but the activities, attractions, shopping and dining options are around every corner! The fun is endless.

Let me introduce you to the fully renovated, indoor water park that is located less than an hour north of Chicago.

This is a sponsored blog post, but all opinions are my own. Thank you.

From the moment we stepped into Great Wolf Lodge we felt special. Living and breathing the bipolar Midwest weather for the past 8 months made us all oooh and ahh at the sight and smell of a pool! The ambiance is inviting. The place is spotless. The staff is attentive. But the abundance of activities is really what sets the tone here. We couldn't have asked for more.

Our reservation was waiting for us which made the check in process fairly quick. We were handed our wrist bands, the infamous Great Wolf Ears and we were on our way. We took some time to familiarize ourselves with the resort and take in everything that this place had to offer. In addition to an amazing water park, you can find Dunkin Donuts, Ben n Jerry's, candy shop, pizza place, a full service restaurant, mini golf, rock climbing, obstacle course, arcade, bowling, MagiQuest interactive game and more. And this is all inside. Outside of the resort you can drive to a giant mall, Gurnee Mills, McDonald's, Starbucks, Six Flags Great America, and much much more. This resort and area is full of surprises and you will find something for everyone.

The water park itself was ginormous. With 7 large slides and about 6 smaller ones for little kids, the day went by pretty quick. The wave pool was the kids favorite but the whole family really enjoyed the River Canyon Ride. It was crazy and fun but the fact that we could all go in together, was the best part.

Great Wolf Lodge doesn't offer day passes but they have several package options and there is something for everyone. It was really busy but we found chairs right away and because people were constantly coming or going, there was plenty of space for all. The place is new and very well taken care of. Lifeguards and attendants were on every corner. The bathrooms and showers were well taken care of considering the amount of people that were there.

Overall, this is a great place. You can get away for the weekend or more and still stay close to home.
