Perfect Mashed Potatoes – my moms recipe

This recipe has been passed down for generations. It is the only way I make mashed potatoes and the only way my kids will eat them. Let’s start getting ready for Thanksgiving 🍗

Enjoy.

Ingredients:

  • 5lbs of golden yellow potatoes
  • 1/4 cup of milk
  • 4 tbs of butter
  • pinch of pepper
  • 1/2 tbs of vegeta or salt
  • 4 tbs of sour cream

Directions:

Bring a pot of water to a boil.

Peel and cube the potatoes.

Add the potatoes to the boiling water and cook until fork tender, about 15 minutes; drain.

Return to pot and add butter [it will melt from the hot potatoes and pot], sour cream, milk, vegeta or salt and pepper to taste.

Using a masher, mix until smooth and creamy. Serve with chicken, beef, fish or on its own. If you like it more rustic, you can leave the skin on.

Bon appetite.

Welcome to my blog. Here you will find a mix of food, life, fashion, beauty and travel reviews. Expect honest motherhood, fun family adventures and parenting fails. I can be sassy with a little bit sarcasm but all with good intentions. I love to cook, write and keep up with the latest fashion and beauty trends. But I am also a bargain hunter. When I find something worth sharing, I will pass it on. I have major OCD. I own 10 pairs of ripped jeans. I drink 3 cups of coffee every day. I suffer from chronic migraines and anxiety. I am a former photographer. Carbs are my life. I can watch a comedy and never LOL and I hate scary movies. I would travel the world but new places scare me. I believe in karma. My guilty pleasures include reality shows and cafes. Thank you for stopping by and I hope you enjoy reading my posts as much as I love writing them! 1. It links to a product spelled V-E-Geta. The blog post has it spelled V-A-Geta all through it. So unless there’s another product out there spelled the vag way, then it doesn’t appear to be spelled correctly unless you’re seeing something I’m not. I’m intrigued, lol
