Hidden Gem: Waterpark in Western Suburbs of Chicago

Happy Summer!

It’s no secret that Chicagoland is rich with pools, parks, hiking, biking trails, and waterparks. But somehow, it always feel like we are looking for the next best thing. Especially when the weather feels like 100 degrees.

Let’s jump into summer and cool off. But where to?

Otter Cove in St. Charles, Illinois is truly a hidden gem. So, please keep it great and safe for all of us! It is only about an hour west of Chicago but absolutely worth the drive.

I’ve lived in the western suburbs of Chicago for over 13 years and this has been our go to. Our kids have enjoyed every part of the park and always ask to come back. It is a mini Wisconsin Dells waterpark but much, much closer.

This park offers so many fun water activities for all. From zero-depth activity pool, a shallow pool for toddlers, an amazing splash park, a lazy river, racing slides, diving boards and so much more!

If you have little ones, the Splash Park offers an endless supply of fun! With dumping buckets, water wheels, spray cannons, a unique sand and water play area and so much more. You can easily spend a day just playing in the splash pad area. And the best part is, from August until September, when the weather is at it’s best – it’s only $5 for non residents during Open Swim Hours. Visit their website for more info.

If you have older kids, they can lap swim, jump off diving boards, race down the water slides, enjoy the lazy river and so much more.

Parents can sit back and relax in one of Otter Cove’s many lounge chairs or cabanas (see rental info).

But I won’t bore you with all the fun you can have here, just come out and visit for yourself. Trust me, you will not be disappointed.

Until next time, dive in and check out some of my other summer activities!
