Teen friendly summer bucket list
It's that time of year - bucket list time.
Every summer, I create a family bucket list that gives us something to look forward to, transforming our warm months into a vibrant tapestry of shared experiences. We only have so little time with our kids before they start driving and having jobs, so these lists not only ensure that we create as many memories as possible, but they also serve as a reminder to cherish the fleeting moments of their childhood.
Our kids, aged 12 and 15, are usually involved in the bucket list-making process, contributing their own ideas, which brings a sense of ownership and excitement to our plans. These lists are very much catered to what they like to do, whether it involves outdoor adventures, like hiking through local trails or visiting national parks, or more creative activities, such as attending workshops or classes. By including a range of options that appeal to their interests, we not only strengthen our family bonds but also encourage their individuality and personal growth. Ultimately, the bucket list has become a cherished tradition that unites us and leaves us with stories to tell for years to come.

These lists aren't meant to put pressure on families to keep up with the Joneses. Nor do you have to finish everything on the list. Instead, they aim to provide inspiration and a starting point for activities that can bring joy and engagement to your family time. These suggestions are purely to give you some ideas so when your kiddos are bored and complaining or you find yourself with some free time, you have an easy list to pick from. Think of it as a treasure trove of potential fun, where you can mix and match ideas based on your family's interests, the weather, or any special occasions that might be coming up. Whether it's a sunny day perfect for an outdoor adventure or a cozy afternoon ideal for crafts and indoor games, having this list at your fingertips can help turn those moments of restlessness into opportunities for creativity and bonding.
Happy summer friends and until next time, you can check out other ideas here.
