A letter to myself on Mother’s day.

Hey there mama. Happy early Mother’s Day.

How are you?

I know life seems like it’s pulling you in a million directions at times. You can’t focus or keep it together sometimes. You feel helpless and defeated and want to run. But don’t!!! Because MAMA friend – you’ve done an amazing job thus far. Even if you don’t see it or believe it; you are a bad ass. And guess what? YOU’VE GOT THIS.

Thank you for staying strong and not giving up.

The challenges you are going through and will continue to go through, have and will make you stronger. Not only for yourself but for your kids as well. They will see how hard you try and that you don’t give up.

That is the single most important thing you can teach them.

Thank you for being a role model.

I am sorry that I didn’t take better care of you in your teens and 20s. I am sorry that I didn’t put enough emphasis on self care. I am sorry that I didn’t teach you to prioritize, to encourage and motivate you. But here we are. Breath, be patient and trust the process.

Thank you for being resilient.

You have changed. Yes you have! You have grown and that is beautiful. Keep using your experiences to inspire others but also to stand up and face challenges head on. Be strong. Be bold. But always be YOU!

Thank you for recognizing that life is imperfect while still making the best of it all.

Always appreciate yourself even if you don’t have it all figured out. Appreciate your efforts and ambitions. Appreciate the life you have created and the direction you are going in. Be proud of everything you have gone through but mostly, of what you have become.

Thank you for always being yourself.

Be a good friend. Help others. Don’t let people change who you are. Be selfless. Not selfish. Never let anyone get in the way of your goals. Surround yourself with positive people and build a meaningful life for yourself.

Thank you for accepting the things that make you different and embracing what makes you unique.

Smile

It’s okay to fail. It’s okay not to have all of the answers. It’s okay to be sad and mad and happy and crazy. Feeling is strength! You are strength. But it’s also okay to ask for help. You are not a one woman show. You have support. You have back up. Use it.

Thank you for trying to take over the world but BRAIN needed PINKY as well!

Pinky: Gee, Brainwhat do you want to do tonight?

Brain: The same thing we do every night, Pinky – try to take over the world! …

Be happy. Be thankful. Everything tends to fall into place, eventually. So take time to breath and one day you will see that every battle meant something and it was all worth it.

Love,

ME
